Handyman

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Handyman to join our team. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks throughout the property to ensure a safe, functional, and visually appealing environment for guests and employees. The ideal candidate is hands-on, resourceful, and knowledgeable in multiple trades, with a strong commitment to quality workmanship and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and general building upkeep.
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, equipment, and building systems to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Install, repair, or replace fixtures, furniture, equipment, and building components as needed.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications when required to complete projects accurately.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders to minimize disruptions to hotel operations.
• Assist with property improvement projects, renovations, and facility upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and OSHA standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
• Support emergency maintenance needs and assist during unforeseen operational issues as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience in general maintenance, handyman services, facilities maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and general repair techniques.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects safely.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and general workplace safety practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, as operational needs require.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.

Pay: $14.00 per hour
