Job Description

• Carry out general handyman, repair, painting, and maintenance works throughout the hotel.
• Perform painting and touch-up works in guest rooms, corridors, public areas, restaurants, offices, and back-of-house areas.
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, filling, scraping, patching, and cleaning before painting.
• Carry out minor carpentry, plumbing, tiling, plastering, and general repair works as required.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete assigned work orders within the required timeframe.
• Inspect walls, ceilings, doors, fixtures, furniture, and other areas for damage and defects.
• Support the Engineering team with preventive maintenance, refurbishment, and renovation projects.
• Ensure all painting and repair work meets the hotel’s quality, appearance, and brand standards.
• Protect furniture, flooring, fixtures, and guest areas while carrying out maintenance or painting works.
• Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Follow all hotel health, safety, fire, environmental, and chemical-handling procedures.
• Report major defects, safety hazards, equipment issues, and additional maintenance requirements to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Demonstrate the “Yes I Can!” attitude by providing friendly, responsive, and solution-focused service to guests and team members.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Handyman, Painter, Maintenance Technician, or similar role, preferably in a 5-star hotel.
• Strong practical knowledge of painting, surface preparation, and finishing techniques.
• Good knowledge of general building maintenance and minor repair works.
• Practical skills in basic carpentry, plumbing, tiling, plastering, and other handyman tasks.
• Ability to carry out high-quality painting and touch-up works with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of different types of paints, primers, coatings, and appropriate application methods.
• Ability to identify maintenance defects and carry out suitable repairs.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
• Ability to safely handle and store paints, chemicals, tools, and equipment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a positive and professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multicultural Engineering team.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and after-hours when required.
• Strong commitment to the “Yes I Can!” service philosophy and maintaining the high standards expected in a 5-star hotel.
