Overview

Rfinterior Systems is seeking a reliable and hands-on Building Maintenance Worker / Handyperson to support the maintenance, repair, renovation, and upkeep of residential and commercial properties in Edmonton.

Rfinterior Systems operates across property management, property maintenance, renovations, interior finishing, and construction. The successful candidate will perform a variety of general building maintenance and repair duties and assist with property improvement and renovation projects as required.

This is a hands-on position requiring practical knowledge of general building repairs, maintenance, property upkeep, and minor renovation work.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance at residential and commercial properties.
• Perform minor repairs involving drywall, painting, flooring, basic carpentry, doors, locks, hardware, fixtures, and other building components.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical maintenance and repairs within the scope of the position and applicable safety requirements.
• Assist with suite repairs, turnovers, and preparation of units for new tenants or occupants.
• Assist with residential and commercial renovation and improvement projects, including preparing work areas, minor demolition, drywall repair, painting, flooring, basic carpentry, installation of fixtures, and other general repair activities.
• Assist with the maintenance and improvement of kitchens, basements, common areas, and other building spaces.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine when specialized contractors or service providers are required.
• Coordinate with and monitor third-party contractors and service providers when required to ensure work is completed safely, properly, and within the required timeframe.
• Maintain accurate records of completed repairs, inspections, maintenance activities, materials used, and outstanding work.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
• Follow applicable occupational health and safety requirements, building procedures, and company policies.
• Assist with urgent or emergency maintenance situations when required.
• Perform other general building maintenance, repair, renovation, and property-related duties as assigned.

Employment Requirements

• Completion of secondary school is usually required.
• Previous experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, construction, renovation, interior finishing, or a related field is required.
• Hands-on experience performing general building repairs and maintenance is required.
• Knowledge and practical experience with drywall repair, painting, flooring, basic carpentry, hardware, fixtures, and general building repairs.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests and projects.
• Reliable, organized, and responsible.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are required because the position may involve travel between properties and worksites.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.

Pay: $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
