Hardware Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Plan, execute, analyze, and document EMI/EMC validation and compliance testing for automotive electronic systems and ECUs.
• Perform conducted/radiated emissions, immunity, ESD, and transient testing in accordance with automotive, OEM, and international EMC standards.
• Develop EMC requirements, test plans, procedures, reports, and technical documentation.
• Conduct EMC design reviews and support implementation of best practices related to PCB layout, grounding, shielding, filtering, harness routing, and EMC protection techniques.
• Investigate EMC test failures, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to meet compliance requirements.
• Support pre-compliance testing and provide design recommendations to improve EMC performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, system, mechanical, PCB, and validation) to resolve EMC-related issues throughout product development.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and external EMC test laboratories for validation and certification activities.
• Review EMC test results and provide technical recommendations for design improvements and compliance.
• Support product development from concept through production release, ensuring adherence to customer-specific, regulatory, and automotive EMC standards.

Preferred candidate profile

• Hands-on experience in EMC chambers and vehicle-level EMC testing.
• Experience with hybrid/electric vehicle systems, battery management systems, or power electronics.
• Exposure to global automotive development processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and drive technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
