Hardware Engineer

About the role

Join us in an intermediate/senior-level hardware engineering role focused on practical power electronics design. Working with product, project, firmware and lab teams, you will deliver assigned hardware development activities, taking designs from development through testing and production readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Design power electronics, circuits and PCBs for applications such as inverters, high-voltage BLDC motor control and switch-mode power supplies.
• Work with firmware engineers on hardware / firmware interfaces, integration and debugging.
• Test products and subsystems, investigate issues and improve designs.
• Develop production-ready hardware, considering manufacturability, EMC and certification requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, Project Managers, Product Managers and Electronics Managers to understand customer needs and document designs and test results.

About you

• At least five years of relevant electronics hardware design experience, including hands-on power electronics design.
• A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a similar discipline.
• Knowledge of software / hardware integration and testing, including hardware / firmware interaction and debugging.
• Experience with PCB layout following IPC standards and design for EMC.
• Good communication and planning skills, with the ability to collaborate and manage changing priorities.
• Desirable: Experience developing hardware for high-volume production.
• Desirable: Altium, PSIM, sensing solutions or familiarity with UL/IEC certification processes.
• Desirable: C for embedded firmware and/or Python for test automation, data analysis or engineering tools.
