Hardware Functional Safety Engineer

We develop advanced motor controller and electronic actuator platforms for next-generation vehicles. What you can look forward to as HW Functional Safety Engineer:

• Safety Requirements & Architecture. Support system functional safety engineer to analyze safety requirements & architecture. Develop the safety plan and impact analysis of HW part.
• Safety Analyses & Quantitative Calculations. Perform DFMEA, FTA, DFA, and FMEDA. Calculate SPFM, LFM, and PMHF against ASIL targets using component failure rates.
• Safety Mechanisms Design & Verification. Define and validate hardware safety mechanisms: overcurrent / overvoltage / thermal protection, watchdog, supply monitoring, sensor plausibility and redundancy, etc. Support fault‑injection testing and verification of diagnostic coverage.
• Supplier & Component Management. Review supplier FMEDA reports and safety manuals (e.g., Infineon TC3xx, SBC). Assess component selection from a functional safety perspective.
• Process & Documentation. Establish and maintain hardware safety development process per ISO 26262. Create and update safety case, work products, and evidence packages. Support safety assessments, audits, confirmation review and certification.
• Cross‑functional Collaboration. Interface with system, software, test, and quality teams to ensure end‑to‑end safety implementation. Coordinate with customers and external assessors for safety release. Your profile as HW Functional Safety Engineer:
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related disciplines.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken.
• Deep knowledge of ISO 26262 Part 5– proficient in FMEDA, FTA, DFA, and metrics (SPFM/LFM/PMHF). Good understanding of motor control hardware: gate drivers, current/voltage sensing, resolver/Hall position sensing, and thermal management.
