About Starpilot

Starpilot builds the data engine for precision robotics. Our teams in Philippines equip workers with wearable cameras that record first-person footage of real work, which robotics companies use to train robots. Our Manila office is the physical center of this operation: every camera, battery, and SD card passes through it, and every hour of footage is uploaded from it.

The role

You own all engineering and equipment matters in our Manila office. You keep our camera and robotics hardware working, make sure equipment reaches sites and comes back on time, and make sure the data we collect is complete, correct, and uploaded. You are the one person who knows where every device is and whether it works. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes fixing things and keeping systems in order.

What you will do

• Maintain, test, and repair camera units, mounts, and robotics hardware
• Calibrate camera equipment with our pre-built robotic arms and document the calibration procedures
• Manage the full equipment pool: cameras, SD cards, batteries and power banks, chargers, mounts, and accessories
• Track inventory and know at all times which equipment is in the office, in transit, or deployed at which site
• Coordinate couriers and deliveries so that sites receive and return equipment quickly, and keep turnaround time short
• Run data ingestion: receive SD cards or uploads from sites, offload footage, and upload to our systems
• Deploy and maintain scripts that validate files for duration, format, and metadata, and flag problems back to the operations team
• Build simple, reliable procedures (checklists, labels, logs) so that the equipment and data flow works even when you are not in the room

What we are looking for

• Degree in mechatronics, electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering, or equivalent hands-on skill. Fresh graduates are welcome if you are sharp, organized, and determined
• Comfortable opening up hardware, diagnosing faults, and repairing or replacing components
• Basic scripting ability (Python or similar) for file validation, batch processing, and simple automation
• Very organized: you naturally track things, label things, and notice when something is missing
• Good English, written and spoken, to work daily with our US engineering team
• Reliable and responsible: equipment and data in your care are the core of the business
• Available for night shifts during the hours of 6PM - 2AM (this role will be primarily doing work once the cameras arrive)

Nice to have

• Experience with cameras, sensors, or embedded devices
• Experience with Linux, cloud storage, or data pipelines
• Experience with inventory or logistics in a lab, workshop, or field operation
• Interest in robotics and AI
