Hardware Solutions Specialist – Servers, Storage, and Workstations

Position Summary:

We are seeking a technically skilled Hardware Solutions Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key technical resource throughout the sales process. You will translate customer requirements into complete, optimized hardware solutions using internal configuration tools. You will work closely with the outside sales team and distribution partners to support quote requests, design systems, and help win new business.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with experience in computer hardware assembly, repair, or system building who is interested in growing into a customer-facing technical sales role

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and design the right server, workstation, or storage solution
• Use internal tools to build accurate, complete system configurations and Bills of Materials
• Support our outside sales team with technical expertise throughout the sales cycle
• Communicate solution designs clearly to distribution partners and, when needed, end customers or integrators
• Respond to price quote requests from distribution partners in a timely and accurate manner.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource for our channel partners
• Review technical specifications and recommend hardware configurations based on customer needs.
• Ensure quote details, configurations, and product selections are accurate and complete.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a technical role involving computer hardware assembly, repair, or systems building. Professional, freelance, or equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
• Ability to physically build a computer from components.
• Working knowledge of PC, workstation, server, or storage hardware, including CPUs, RAM, motherboards, storage, power supplies, cooling, and form factors.
• Understanding of how components interact and how choices such as RAID configuration, storage bandwidth, and CPU core count impact system performance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and datasheets.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple quote requests simultaneously and accurately.

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience with servers and enterprise hardware
• Prior work experience in surveillance/security integration
• Any exposure to a customer-facing or sales support role
• Experience supporting sales, quoting, or customer-facing technical requests.
• Familiarity with CRM, ERP, quoting, or configuration tools.
• Experience working with distribution partners, resellers, or channel sales teams.
• Associates degree, technical certification, or related coursework in information technology, computer hardware, or a related field.
