Hardware Store Associate Part-time

Job Summary
We are seeking a mature dedicated and knowledgeable Hardware Associate to join our team. Must possess a strong work ethic and capable of showing up on time ready to work when scheduled. Dependability is a must. Store hours are 8:00am to 7:00pm Monday through Saturday and 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Sunday. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their hardware needs, and ensuring that the store is well-stocked and organized. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales skills, a passion for helping customers, and the ability to work effectively in a retail environment. Must be a team player and willing to help in all areas of the store.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
• Provide knowledgeable advice on hardware products and their uses.
• Process transactions accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Ability to perform opening or closing duties.
• Maintain an organized stock area and ensure shelves are well-stocked and visually appealing.
• Utilize effective phone etiquette when responding to customer calls or inquiries.
• Helping customers load merchandise
• Mechanical abilities. Able to assemble products
• Stock shelves
• Operate forklift
• Some heavy lifting required.

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales .
• Familiarity with hardware products, tools, lawn and garden products.
• Strong cash handling abilities
• Opening and closing experience
• Stocking
• Merchandising
• Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential for success in this role.
• Forklift operation
