What they need
Manbulloo
Manbulloo specialises in growing, packing, marketing, and distributing the highest quality mangoes and avocados, with seven farms across NT and Northern Queensland
Manbulloo is proud to deliver the best fruit to customers within Australia and overseas too. Supported by a committed R&D capacity, from flowering to supermarket shelves the focus on premium quality is unparalleled.
The Roles
We are currently seeking seasonal packhouse workers who will be responsible for sorting and packing fruit in preparation for transport for the upcoming harvest season.
Expect to work 4-7 days a week, subject to harvest schedule and weather, so once you're into it, there'll be plenty to keep you occupied.
The available roles include:
- Sorting
- Packing
- Receivables/Dispatch
Training for all roles is provided. All roles involve:
Being trained in quality and process
Accuracy and diligence
Working safely and cooperatively
Liaising with others to share information and coordinate activities
The Seasons
The roles start with the start of harvest, and finish when it is over. The local harvest seasons are typically:
- Katherine - NOW through to December
- Townsville / Ayr - November to end December
- Mareeba - mid November to mid April
If you are available for some times and locations, but not others, that's absolutely fine. There is some overlap, but if your preference is to start in Katherine and then switch over to Queensland, that is ideal. That way you can choose to work at one or more of those locations, as you prefer.
You
To succeed you will need
- To love working in a busy environment with lots to think about and do.
- To work comfortably and harmoniously within a multicultural team.
- A proactive approach to learning and working.
- A calm, positive attitude, good communications skills and willingness to do the job efficiently and effectively.
Ideally you will have worked in a busy hands-on work environment before, but it is not necessary so long as you are keen to learn, responsible, and happy working at a fast pace with lots going on around you.
Things to keep in mind:
- The pack shed is undercover but the weather is hot and dry so you'll need to keep yourself hydrated.
- On-site camping is available, but otherwise you will need to organize your own transport and accommodation.
- You will need to wear enclosed footwear and restrain loose clothing, and otherwise comply with our codes of dress, conduct and safety
