What they need

Silverstone is recruiting experienced Haulage & Site Supervisors for opportunities with our haulage clients on iron ore mine sites, overseeing operators carting ore in triple and quad road trains.

These roles suit hands-on leaders with a strong haulage background who can support their crews, maintain safety standards and keep daily operations running efficiently.

About the roles
Working closely with operations management, you’ll coordinate daily ore haulage activities and supervise road train operators to ensure work is completed safely and production targets are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising road train operators carting iron ore in triple and quad combinations.
  • Coordinating truck movements, loading and tipping activities to minimise delays.
  • Leading pre-start meetings, shift handovers and toolbox talks.
  • Monitoring fatigue, fitness for work and compliance with site procedures.
  • Ensuring safe interaction between road trains, mobile plant and other site traffic.
  • Coaching operators and managing crew performance.
  • Liaising with maintenance teams regarding equipment defects and availability.
  • Completing production, safety and incident reports.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with mine site representatives and contractors.

About you

  • Previous supervisory experience in mine site haulage operations.
  • Strong understanding of triple and quad road train operations, ideally carting iron ore.
  • A practical approach to safety, fatigue management and traffic management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to support and manage experienced operators.
  • Ability to resolve operational issues and respond to changing production requirements.
  • Current Australian driver’s licence; an MC licence will be highly regarded.
  • Relevant supervisory qualifications, including Statutory Supervisor training where required.
  • Ability to meet site medical, drug and alcohol screening, and police clearance requirements.
