Prowess Utility Group Inc. is looking for an experienced HDD Superintendent / Working Foreman to lead an 8-person underground utility crew consisting of HDD operators, laborers, and truck drivers.

This is a working leadership position—not a desk job.

We need an experienced HDD professional who knows how to run a crew, plan the work, manage production, recognize problems before they become delays, and hold people accountable.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

• Lead an 8-person HDD/utility construction crew.
• Direct daily production, manpower, equipment, trucking, and job-site activities.
• Plan ahead and maintain daily/weekly production schedules and timelines.
• Keep the crew organized, productive, and working together.
• Establish clear assignments and hold employees accountable for their responsibilities.
• Maintain constant job-site awareness and enforce safe work practices.
• Perform and oversee daily equipment inspections and basic machine upkeep.
• Identify potential equipment, utility, access, or production problems early.
• Communicate effectively with management, inspectors, customers, and other trades.
• Enforce Prowess policies—including our No Cell Phone / No Distracted Work Policy while working.
• Coach employees, develop operators and laborers, and help people learn from mistakes.
• Address recurring performance, attendance, safety, and accountability issues.
• Maintain the momentum necessary to build additional crews as Prowess continues to grow.

YOU SHOULD HAVE

• Proven HDD experience in underground utility construction.
• Previous Foreman, Superintendent, Lead Operator, or equivalent field leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of HDD operations, equipment, tooling, and job-site logistics.
• Excellent time management and production-planning/scheduling skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work on your feet in the field throughout the day.
• Reliable attendance and responsiveness.
• Ability to work effectively with different personalities and skill levels.
• Basic computer proficiency for email, scheduling, timekeeping, reporting, and production documentation.
• Valid California driver's license and clean driving record.
• English communication skills required.
• English/Spanish bilingual strongly preferred.

Pay: $114,000.00 - $135,200.00 per year
