Duties

• Oversee all aspects of bakery operations, including daily production schedules, inventory management, and quality control of baked goods such as cakes, pastries, and bread.
• Lead the bakery team by providing training in cake decorating, dough preparation, pastry techniques, and operating kitchen equipment to ensure consistency and excellence.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace by enforcing sanitation standards and food safety protocols aligned with industry regulations.
• Develop and adhere to recipes, ensuring product consistency while innovating new baked goods to delight customers.
• Manage packaging processes for retail or catering orders, ensuring presentation quality and timely delivery.
• Monitor high-volume food production processes, optimizing workflow for efficiency without compromising quality.
• Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, motivation, and mentorship while managing scheduling and staffing needs.
• Uphold food safety management practices by training staff on proper food handling, hygiene standards, and compliance with health regulations.
• Collaborate with customers or clients for catering events or special orders, providing excellent customer service from order intake to delivery.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, dough sheeters, and decorating tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in baking or pastry preparation with a strong portfolio of baked goods including cakes, bread, pastries, and other confections.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with previous management experience in a high-volume food production environment.
• Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and food handling procedures within the food industry.
• Skilled in cake decorating techniques and pastry artistry to create visually appealing products.
• Proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for recipe scaling, portion control, inventory calculations, and cost management.
• Excellent communication skills focused on team collaboration and customer service excellence.
• Experience in catering or large-scale food production is highly desirable.
• Ability to maintain a clean workspace consistently while adhering to health regulations.
