Head Barista

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day café operations, including opening and closing, cash handling, cleanliness, hygiene and displays, in line with Dubai Municipality requirements.
• Prepare and serve consistent, high-quality espresso-based and other hot and cold beverages to Wala Coffee standards.
• Dial in grinders and espresso extraction every day, and run regular quality checks.
• Lead, schedule and train the barista team on recipes, latte art, customer service and equipment handling.
• Manage stock, place orders with suppliers and the roastery, and reduce wastage.
• Make sure equipment is maintained, and coordinate repairs with service providers.
• Prepare daily sales, cash and stock reports for management.
• Handle customer feedback and complaints, and drive sales of beverages and retail coffee.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of barista experience in the UAE, including 1 year in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of specialty coffee, brewing methods, grinder calibration and basic machine troubleshooting.
• Experience with café operations, POS, cash handling and stock control.
• Working knowledge of UAE food safety and hygiene practices.
• Good English; other languages are an advantage.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and peak hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience running or supervising a specialty or branded café.
• Recognised barista certification (such as SCA) or Dubai Municipality food safety (PIC) training.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
