Love the bar industry, but tired of the hours?

At Ovation, we are building a beverage program that is going to set the standard for stadium hospitality in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific. We need a Head Bartender to lead it.

What you'll own

 Your mission in this role is to lead our Bar programme, at one of NZ's biggest venues:

• Running our new Members Lounge on gamedays
• Oversight of every Corporate bar across the stadium
• Expanding the beverage program throughout the venue
• Training of all bar staff
• The setup, stock and standards behind every service

We believe great service is built through small improvements over a long period of time. Training is a big part of this role, and you'll be the one raising the bar, week after week.

This job is hard, and we do not shy away from it. As we have 30 to 50 service nights a year, a lot of the work is weekday setup and planning, with a couple of evenings a fortnight (it varies). On non-game weeks, you'll be working alongside our events team on large-scale event setup. It's a chance to learn skills well beyond the bar and build a seriously impressive CV. And you still get a social life.

We need someone with solid bar experience who loves this industry and wants to be part of something that could be great. The most important thing in our eyes is attitude – and someone who is with us to learn and grow.

What We’re Looking For

-            Minimum 2 years’ bar experience

-            Preferably with an LCQ/License Controller Qualification

-            Having a positive, passionate and “can-do” attitude is key

-            You need to be calm, positive, and solution-focused in busy environments

-            The role will also need flexible availability including weekends, evenings and major events
