Head Bartender

The Head Bartender is responsible for overseeing bar operations, leading the bartending team, preparing high-quality beverages, and delivering excellent customer service. This role involves managing beverage inventory, training staff, maintaining service standards, and ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming bar environment. The ideal candidate has strong bartending expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to providing an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily bar operations and ensure efficient beverage service.
• Lead, supervise, and support bartenders and bar staff.
• Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Maintain consistent beverage quality, flavor, presentation, and portion control.
• Develop specialty cocktails and contribute ideas for seasonal beverage menus.
• Train employees on drink recipes, preparation techniques, and service standards.
• Coordinate staff schedules, shift assignments, and break times.
• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to guests.
• Handle customer questions, feedback, and complaints professionally.
• Manage beverage inventory, stock levels, and supply orders.
• Monitor beverage costs and minimize waste through proper portion control.
• Operate POS systems and oversee accurate payment processing and cash handling.
• Follow responsible alcohol-service practices and applicable regulations.
• Verify customer identification and age when legally required.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar, glassware, tools, and equipment.
• Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and restaurant management.
• Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Oversee opening, closing, restocking, and shift handover procedures.
• Maintain inventory records and report operational issues to management.
• Support promotions, special events, and initiatives to improve guest satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous bartending experience, with head bartender or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and beverage preparation.
• Excellent drink-mixing, presentation, and customer-service skills.
• Proven leadership and team-management abilities.
• Experience with beverage inventory and cost control.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash-handling procedures.
• Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and applicable regulations.
• Understanding of bar sanitation and equipment maintenance.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to train, motivate, and support bartending staff.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer-conflict resolution skills.

Pay: $27.50 - $33.12 per hour
