Head Butcher

We are growing and are looking to add a Head Butcher to our team. You will be responsible for breaking down carcasses, portioning, meat, and overseeing a team. During the busy season, expect 40+ hours per week with overtime pay.

Responsibilities:

-Meat Preparation: Cut, trim, and portion beef, pork, lamb, and goat to customer specifications.

-Team Leadership: Train, supervise, and schedule butcher shop staff.

-Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and check deliveries for quality.

-Safety & Sanitation: Enforce strict health, hygiene, and food safety regulations.

Experience:

-Multiple years of professional meat-cutting and supervisory experience.

-You must have experience with whole animal butchery, we only work with whole carcasses.

Skills:

-Expert knowledge of meat anatomy, knife handling, and equipment operation.

-Skills will be tested.

-You don't need whole animal experience, but it is a major plus

Physical Ability:

-Strength to lift heavy items (~75 lbs) and stand for long hours in a cold (40-50 degree) environment.

Starting pay will depend on skill level and management experience.
