Location: Kuala Lumpur – Near Cheras / Chan Sow Lin
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: RM4,500 – RM6,000 per month, depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Head Cake Baker / Senior Cake Baker to join our bakery team.

The ideal candidate should have strong cake baking skills, good knowledge of bakery production, and the ability to maintain consistent product quality while leading and supporting the production team.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare, bake and produce a variety of cakes according to recipes and production requirements
• Ensure consistent taste, texture, appearance and product quality
• Manage and coordinate daily cake production
• Plan production quantities according to orders and sales requirements
• Monitor baking time, temperature and production processes
• Prepare cake fillings, creams, toppings and basic decorations
• Ensure recipes and production SOPs are followed consistently
• Train, guide and supervise junior bakers and bakery assistants
• Assist in developing and improving new cake products and flavours
• Troubleshoot baking and product quality issues
• Monitor ingredient usage, stock levels and wastage
• Control portion size and maintain product consistency
• Ensure all bakery equipment is properly used and maintained
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and food safety
• Ensure the production area is organised and ready for daily operations
• Work closely with management on product improvement, costing and production efficiency

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in cake baking, pastry or bakery production
• Previous experience as a Head Baker, Senior Baker, Cake Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role is preferred
• Strong hands-on knowledge of cake baking and production
• Familiar with sponge cakes, butter cakes, chiffon cakes, cheesecakes, creams, fillings and basic cake decoration
• Good understanding of baking techniques, temperature control and ingredient functions
• Able to maintain consistent product quality in higher-volume production
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Able to lead, train and coordinate a small bakery team
• Good time management and production planning skills
• Responsible, organised and detail-oriented
• Able to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Knowledge of recipe standardisation, food costing and wastage control is an advantage
• Experience in product development / R&D is an advantage
• Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety practices is required

We are looking for someone who is not only experienced in baking, but also takes ownership of product quality and daily production.

You should be comfortable working hands-on with the team and be able to identify and solve production problems when they arise.
