Temporary Full-Time | 35 Hours per Week | 1 Year Contract

Ready to lead the next chapter of catering at one of Australia's premier regional team training facilities?

Mudgee Team Training Village (MTTV) is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead in-house catering operations.

This is more than a traditional Head Chef role. You'll have the opportunity to build and lead a growing catering operation that delivers exceptional food experiences for elite sporting teams, schools, corporate groups, community organisations and Council events. Working in a unique high-performance environment, you'll play an important role in supporting athlete performance, recovery and wellbeing through quality nutrition and outstanding hospitality.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Mudgee Team Training Village, you will lead all aspects of the Village's catering operation, from menu development and kitchen leadership through to budgeting, food safety and operational planning.

Working collaboratively with sporting organisations, coaches and sports nutritionists, you'll deliver high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to the specific needs of elite athletes while also providing exceptional catering for a diverse range of guests and events.

Key focus areas include:

  • Leading the planning, preparation and delivery of high-quality catering services across the Mudgee Team Training Village and associated Mid-Western Regional Council functions.
  • Developing innovative, nutritious and cost-effective menus that cater for elite athletes, schools, corporate groups and community events.
  • Managing kitchen operations, food safety, budgets, stock control and supplier relationships while leading and mentoring the catering team.

What We Can Offer

  • Competitive salary based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation plus penalty rates for overtime, weekends and public holidays
  • Continual professional development
  • Access to relocation assistance (where applicable)
  • Employee benefits including Fitness Passport Program and Employee Assistance Program
  • Work from a brand new, purpose-built commercial kitchen equipped with all modern facilities and premium equipment.

About You

You're an experienced chef who enjoys leading people, creating exceptional food and continually improving kitchen operations. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, take pride in maintaining high standards and understand the important role nutrition plays in supporting athlete performance and guest experience.

You will bring:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or higher) or equivalent commercial kitchen experience.
  • Current NSW Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience leading commercial kitchen operations and supervising staff.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, budgeting, stock control and kitchen management.
  • Experience delivering high-volume catering while maintaining exceptional food quality.
  • A sound understanding of sports nutrition principles and the ability to prepare meals in accordance with the guidance of sports dietitians and nutritionists.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills.
  • Experience catering for elite sporting teams, accommodation venues or large group facilities.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, with availability to work across early mornings, evenings, weekends and split shifts to meet operational requirements.

Salary

The salary range being offered for this full-time position is $3,376.30 - $3,799.70 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $87,783.80 - $98,792.20 gross plus superannuation and penalties (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).
