Head Chef

About the role

As Head Chef, you will take ownership of the kitchen operations, working closely with management to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and developing the kitchen team
• Managing day-to-day kitchen operations
• Creating and maintaining an exciting, quality-driven menu
• Ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and service
• Managing food costs, GP and kitchen budgets
• Ordering stock and managing supplier relationships
• Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and WHS standards
• Managing kitchen rosters and labour costs
• Training and mentoring junior chefs and kitchen staff
• Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen

About you

• Have proven experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or senior kitchen leader
• Have strong leadership and communication skills
• Is commercially minded and understands food costs and kitchen GP
• Can remain calm and organised in a high-volume environment
• Is passionate about quality food and consistency
• Takes pride in developing and supporting their team
• Has excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance
• Is creative, energetic and ready to make the kitchen their own
