About the role

Last Slice Group PTY LTD is seeking a highly experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our new Kelmscott venue, opening in the next few weeks.

This is a senior position for a proven kitchen leader who can take full ownership of a busy, high-revenue operation.

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' proven experience working as a Head Chef.

We are looking for a serious operator with strong leadership skills, excellent kitchen management experience and the ability to build, train and lead a high-performing team.

What you'll be doing

• Taking full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen
• Leading, training, mentoring and managing the BOH team
• Preparing the kitchen and team for a successful new venue opening
• Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
• Managing high-volume and high-revenue service periods
• Managing food ordering, inventory, stock rotation and waste
• Rostering and managing kitchen labour costs
• Monitoring food costs, portion control and profitability
• Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and cleaning standards
• Ensuring efficient preparation and workflow before and during service
• Managing dietary requirements and allergen procedures
• Maintaining kitchen equipment and reporting maintenance requirements
• Working closely with the Group Executive Chef and senior management team

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Head Chef
• Proven experience managing a busy, high-volume kitchen
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a large kitchen team
• Excellent knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
• Experience managing labour, food costs, stock and budgets
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to perform under pressure
• Strong communication and team-management skills
• Relevant culinary qualifications
• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to lead from the front
• High standards, accountability and a genuine passion for hospitality
