Chattaway Group | Ulverston, South Lakeland, gateway to the Lake District

Love cooking? Proud of what you put on the plate? Ready to lead a kitchen?

We’re looking for an experienced, reliable and quality-focused leader to step into a Head Chef role within the Chattaway Group, a small but growing, family-run group that has been in business for over 40 years, with a collection of independent pub-restaurants in Ulverston and the surrounding area.

We need someone who can take responsibility for their kitchen, lead from the front and keep standards high, even when service gets busy. Someone who cares about the food, their team and the overall running of the kitchen.

What’s in it for you

• Up to £55,000
• 4 or 5 day working week, depending on the venue
• Christmas Day off
• Private medical care
• Hourly paid, so every hour worked is paid
• Tips & tronc share
• Overtime opportunities
• Year-round work
• Pension scheme
• Staff Discount at our other venues for you and a friend
• Training and development as the group continues to grow

What you’ll be doing

• Leading and developing your kitchen team
• Maintaining high standards of food, consistency and presentation
• Managing food costs, stock, ordering and waste
• Planning and running busy services
• Menu development and working with the wider team on new ideas
• Maintaining food safety and kitchen standards
• Training and developing the chefs around you
• Taking ownership of the day-to-day running of your kitchen

We’re a hands-on, independent group and we’re still growing. We want someone who takes pride in their kitchen, backs their team and can be relied upon to deliver.
