Head Chef - IMMEDIATE START

About the role

Peekaboo Erina is seeking an experienced, hands-on Head Chef for an IMMEDIATE START. This is a hands-on cooking role for a new family entertainment and hospitality venue in Erina Fair. You will take ownership of the kitchen, contribute to the development of the food offering and lead the kitchen team from the front, actively cooking and working alongside the team during service.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of the opening menu
• Contribute to ongoing menu creation, development and seasonal updates
• Prepare and cook food during daily service
• Lead by example by actively cooking alongside the kitchen team
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the kitchen
• Oversee food preparation and coordinate service during busy periods
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
• Manage ordering of food, ingredients and kitchen supplies
• Manage stock levels, stock rotation and inventory
• Monitor food costs, portion control and minimise waste

About you

• Previous experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or experienced senior chef ready to step up
• Genuinely hands-on and enjoys cooking
• Can confidently lead and organise a kitchen team
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Understands food costs, stock control and waste management
• Strong food safety and hygiene knowledge
• Can work effectively during busy service periods
• Confident contributing ideas and developing menus
• Reliable, practical and takes ownership of their kitchen
• Weekend availability is essential
