Head Chef/Sous Chef

We are excited to be opening a brand-new European Steakhouse & Indian Curry Restaurant in Uddingston and are looking for an experienced Head Chef and Sous Chef to join our team from the very beginning. We are seeking passionate, enthusiastic and motivated individuals who take pride in delivering consistently high-quality food and maintaining excellent kitchen standards. The ideal candidates will have strong leadership and communication skills, work well as part of a team and be confident in helping lead, train and motivate kitchen staff in a busy restaurant environment. Previous experience in a similar role is essential, along with a strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, allergen management, stock control and day-to-day kitchen operations. All relevant food hygiene certificates, training and records must be up to date. This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in the launch and ongoing development of an exciting new restaurant, helping us build a strong kitchen team and set exceptional standards from day one.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and high-quality culinary output
• Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency, presentation, and flavor excellence
• Manage daily kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory control, and maintaining cleanliness standards
• Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect current trends and customer preferences
• Enforce strict food safety regulations and hygiene practices to ensure compliance with health standards
• Mentor team members to foster professional growth, teamwork, and a positive work environment
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction

Qualifications

• Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced culinary or hospitality setting
• Extensive food production, preparation, and cooking experience across diverse cuisines
• Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members
• Solid kitchen experience with a deep understanding of food safety protocols
• Demonstrated leadership in managing restaurant or hospitality operations
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and management
• Passion for culinary innovation, hospitality excellence, and delivering memorable guest experiences

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
