Head Coffee Roaster

Position Definition:

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and motivated Head Roaster to help lead and grow Teleo's roasting program. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who values exceptional specialty coffee, loves educating others, and is excited to help build something meaningful. We're looking for someone who brings strong coffee knowledge, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to develop our coffee program while supporting wholesale relationships and connecting with the coffee community. While leadership experience is a plus, we're equally excited about someone with the initiative and potential to grow into greater responsibility. As Teleo Roasting expands, we envision this position growing into a significant leadership role with the opportunity to help shape the future of the company. Key Responsibilities

Coffee Quality & Roasting Operations

• Lead daily roasting operations, ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, and efficiency.
• Develop, refine, and maintain roast profiles that highlight the unique characteristics of each coffee.
• Oversee production scheduling, inventory management, and fulfillment of roasting orders.
• Lead regular cuppings and quality control evaluations to maintain Teleo's coffee standards.
• Assist with green coffee sourcing, selection, and seasonal coffee offerings.
• Maintain roasting equipment, oversee routine maintenance, and ensure a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
• As the company grows, assist with training and overseeing part-time production support for roasting, packaging, and deliveries.

Coffee Program Development & Growth

• Help develop and execute a long-term vision for Teleo's roasting and specialty coffee program.
• Identify opportunities to improve coffee quality, operations, and the overall coffee experience.
• Research and introduce new coffees, roasting techniques, and creative offerings that align with Teleo's brand.
• Take initiative in developing systems and processes that support a growing roasting operation.
• Collaborate with Teleo leadership to establish goals and pursue opportunities for growth.

Education & Staff Development

• Develop and lead coffee education opportunities for Teleo's baristas and leadership team.
• Partner with Teleo's training team to provide coffee education for new and existing baristas, including coffee processing, tasting notes, espresso extraction, and milk steaming.
• Equip staff with the knowledge and confidence to communicate about our coffees and brewing methods.
• Create approachable and engaging educational experiences for guests, including tastings, cuppings, and coffee workshops.
• Help build a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, and appreciation for specialty coffee.
• Communicate complex coffee concepts in a way that is welcoming and accessible, regardless of someone's level of coffee knowledge.

Wholesale Support & Relationship Building

• Support Teleo's wholesale growth through coffee expertise, education, and relationship building.
• Build meaningful relationships with current wholesale partners, ensuring they feel supported and confident in the coffee they're serving.
• Assist with prospective wholesale partnerships through tastings, coffee education, and product recommendations.
• Collaborate with Teleo leadership on opportunities to expand the wholesale program.
• Represent Teleo Roasting with professionalism, hospitality, and a genuine passion for specialty coffee.

Coffee Community & Brand Representation

• Actively participate in the local and broader specialty coffee community.
• Represent Teleo at coffee events, industry gatherings, competitions, and networking opportunities.
• Build relationships with other coffee professionals, roasters, and industry partners.
• Stay informed on specialty coffee trends, industry developments, and best practices.
• Serve as an ambassador for Teleo's mission, values, and commitment to quality.

This position would be a full time salaried position with room for growth in the company

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
