Head - Formulation & Development

1. Primarily responsible for the development of various dosage forms (Solids / Liquids / Semisolids in OTC/Nutraceuticals / Ayurvedic formulations) and leading FR&D and Production department.

2. Responsible for guiding the team for following activities:

• Literature search, reference product finalization and characterization.
• Developmental lab trials to optimize formula and process.
• Technical information and documentation for applying License (FSSAI & AYUSH).
• API source finalization with the help of other supporting departments like purchase, QA, AD, Customer etc.

3. To provide expert opinion for Formulation development team in developing the proto type formulation of various dosage forms.

4. Interact with Production team on daily basis to provide expert opinion in overcoming technical challenges during batch manufacturing of various dosage forms.

5. To update the assigned project status to internal and external customer(s) and to meet the milestones as per the mutually agreed timeline.

6. To ensure the various activities required for the Nutraceuticals / Ayurvedic formulations pertaining to intellectual property rights and clinical supports.

7. Assist in developing a patentable composition for Novel drug delivery systems.

8. Project allocation to the team and ensure the availability of resources to conduct trials and manufacturing batches.

9. Annual budget preparation and capex raising for equipment/instruments.

10. Provide technical support to the team and supportive departments for regulatory deficiencies.

11. Nominating subordinates to in house and external technical seminars and trainings.

12. Coordination with cross functional teams and customers in execution of validation / submission batches.

13. Ensuring the safety aspects related to Formulation Development and Production activities.

14. Finalizing the source of API/excipients in coordination with supportive departments and customers.

15. Coordination with Purchase department in the procurement of raw materials & packing materials.

16. Review and Approval of Technology Transfer documents (Specs, STP, Protocols, MFR etc) and Product Development Report.Role & responsibilities
