Ashby Manor House is a much-loved historic home that combines the warmth of a private residence with the vibrancy of a small, high-quality events and weddings venue. The house is cared for with great pride and attention to detail and is enjoyed both as a family home and as a place where guests come together to celebrate important moments.

Our current housekeeper has been with us for nine years, reflecting the valued and supportive working environment at the Manor. We are now seeking a dedicated and conscientious Housekeeper who will take pride in maintaining the house to an exceptional standard and become an integral part of the Ashby Manor team including a much loved extension of our family. The successful candidate will live within 15 minutes of Daventry, our local town.

Role Overview

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the beauty, cleanliness, and smooth running of Ashby Manor House. This position involves caring for the home on a day-to-day basis while also supporting preparations for weddings and events during the high season.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, take genuine pride in their work, and enjoy being part of a close-knit household and events team. The successful candidate will have a down to earth, hands on approach and be willing to roll their sleeves up (literally!)

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the house
• Daily housekeeping including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, polishing and general upkeep
• Care for delicate furnishings, antiques, porcelain, glassware and fabrics with appropriate cleaning methods
• Laundry and linen management, including washing, ironing, and wardrobe care
• Preparing rooms and communal spaces to an exceptional standard
• Supporting event preparation and turnaround during wedding and events season
• Ensuring guest accommodation areas are immaculate and welcoming
• Monitoring housekeeping supplies and reporting when items need replenishing
• Assisting with occasional seasonal deep cleaning and organisation projects
• Working collaboratively with the wider grounds team and third party contractors

Skills and Experience

• Previous housekeeping experience in a private home, boutique hotel, or similar environment preferred but not essential
• Excellent attention to detail and high personal standards
• Trustworthy, discreet, and reliable
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Comfortable working in a home environment
• Flexibility during the busy events season. Hours range from 25-30 in the low season to 50-60 during key weeks in the year
• Dog lover!
