Head Housekeeper

CoSM Head Housekeeper Job Description:

Housekeeping shifts are from 10am - 6pm with a half hour unpaid break, unless notified otherwise (these hours are subject to change around events), Weds-Sun weekly. Weekend availability is a requirement for this role. This is a wonderful position for someone looking for part time to full time employment at a unique establishment. Lunch and dinner buffet style meals are provided. Weekend availability is required for this role. The compensation range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00, depending on experience. Please note that housing is not provided with this position. Ideally, we are seeking someone who can commit to this role for at least one year.

Responsibilities include:

• Opening and closing tasks
• Room flips
• Laundry upkeep
• Deep cleaning and organizing projects
• Upkeep of specified outdoor zones around Grey House
• General event support, such as registration, setup and breakdown of indoor and outdoor zones
• Occasional interdepartmental support
• Maintain cleanliness of classroom during workshops
• Organization of supply closets, first floor, laundry room and basement
• Doing inventory of hospitality supplies
• Team leadership of volunteers
• Referencing Google Drive for training and general information documents
• Answering miscellaneous guest questions about the space, organization, and events offered
• Basic customer service skills
• Occasionally supporting guest check ins

Our 10 room bed and breakfast (featuring king, queen, and dorm rooms) is open Thursday through Sunday each week. This physically active role requires someone capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs. Responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of guest rooms, ensuring quick room turnovers, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, excels at time management, and can follow daily task outlines created in collaboration with the Grey House Manager.

Comfortability with occasionally leading groups of volunteers is required. A strong work ethic, excellent communication, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for cleaning and organizing are essential. Utilizing organizational communication and task management apps is necessary. Additionally, the ideal candidate will proactively monitor supplies and report any maintenance needs in a timely manner. During events, this role may involve assisting the events team with various event production tasks, requiring flexibility and adaptability in daily responsibilities.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
