Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation within our establishment. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in hotel or hospitality environments, demonstrate excellent leadership, and ensure that all guest rooms and communal areas are maintained to an exceptional standard.

Key Requirements

• Must be available to for a practical assessment as part of the interview process
• Must be aged 30 or over to meet the insurance requirements for the role
• Must hold a full UK driving licence (manual transmission essential)
• Must be physically fit and free from any allergies that may affect performance due to the physical and environmental nature of the work
• Must be able to work with minimal training and supervision
• Must be willing to complete a 1-month probationary period on a self-employed basis, after which employment may be offered, subject to performance review
• Pay is negotiable, depending on skills and experience. During the 4-week training period pay is set at £14.12 per hour
• Candidate must be able to obtain suitable insurance cover for the use of the company vehicle as part of their role

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee daily housekeeping operations to ensure efficient and high-standard service delivery
• Train, supervise, and motivate housekeeping staff, fostering a supportive and professional environment
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and communal areas for quality control
• Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and procedures
• Maintain stock levels and manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
• Respond to guest feedback or complaints regarding cleanliness promptly and professionally
• Work collaboratively with other departments to maintain smooth operations
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies

Experience and Skills

• Prior experience in a housekeeping leadership role within the hospitality sector is essential
• Proven team management and leadership capabilities
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Effective communication skills, with a professional and guest-focused attitude
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays, as per business needs
