Head Nurse

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

• Heads the unit and is directly responsible for the administration and supervision of a particular units and its overall operation.
• Staff Related

a) Supervises staff in clinical area.

b) Assess clinical competency and performance of staff.

c) Adjust staffing to meet individual patient requirement and staff request.

d) Provides means of continuing education of staff plan and coordinates and participates in orientation of new staff.

e) Counsel staff regarding personal behavior and clinical performance as needed.

• Patient Related

a) Possesses a working knowledge of each patient diagnosis, history, goal of treatment and appropriate nursing care.

b) Evaluates nursing care givens to patient and

c) Make recommendation to staff.

d) Collaborates with physicians in area of treatment and patient care to assure quality care.

e) Investigate problem in the units and handles events within the unit scope. Communicates and refer to nurse supervisor.

f) Ensures proper, safe and economical use of equipment supplies and facilities for patient care. Establish and maintain unit stocks.

• Personnel Management

o Interprets standard operating procedures, new procedures and policies, review work performance of personnel to determine if it conforms to recognized standard.

o Plans the programs and work of all nursing personnel of the unit.

o Directs arrangements of schedule of work hours, off duties, vacation leave, etc. Of all nursing personnel not assigned in the unit.

o Evaluates work accomplished by each nursing employee in the ward.

o Prepare the plans for counselling of co-workers: this is done individually especially to personnel with problems.

o Renders harmonious relationship and self-disciplines among nursing personnel under her supervision

o Helps in providing an adequate and safe environment by guiding and helping Nurse Supervisor in providing and maintaining a safe, orderly and clean environment for patient and personnel.

o Helps in providing adequate supplies and equipment.

• Perform the other duties as maybe assigned to you from time to time by the corporation.

Pay: From Php32,000.00 per month
