Head of AI Philips China

Job Description The Head of AI, Philips China will lead the China AI agenda, translating business priorities into scalable, responsible AI capabilities and solutions that improve how Philips operates and serves customers in China.

Your role

• Shape and drive the AI strategy and portfolio for Philips China, aligned with China business priorities and Philips’ global AI direction.
• Partner with business and functional leaders to identify and prioritize high-value AI opportunities, translating ideas into practical solutions with clear ownership, adoption plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Lead the delivery of production-ready AI solutions, drawing on internal capabilities, future team resources, the Philips Global AI Center of Excellence, and selected technology partners.
• Connect Philips’ global AI platforms, expertise, and Responsible AI standards with China-based models, cloud ecosystems, technology vendors, and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with Philips China IT, Innovation, business teams, Legal, Privacy, Information Security, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality to establish effective architecture, governance, security, and delivery practices.
• Manage relationships with local technology vendors and strategic partners, assessing appropriate models, platforms, architecture choices, delivery capabilities, and long-term scalability.
• Drive AI adoption across Philips China by strengthening AI fluency, supporting business teams, and creating practical ways of working that move initiatives beyond experimentation into sustainable business use.
• Help shape the future China AI organization, attract strong local talent, and build a multidisciplinary capability across AI engineering, data science, solution architecture, product thinking, and business adoption.
• Contribute China market insights and requirements to the global AI community while leveraging global expertise, platforms, and professional networks.

You’re The Right Fit If

• Relevant AI and technology delivery experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Econometrics, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline. Minimum eight years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or minimum six years with a Master’s degree, across AI, data, analytics, technology platforms, or solution delivery.
• Technical credibility combined with product and business thinking Practical knowledge of modern AI technologies and delivery approaches, including generative AI, large language models, RAG, agentic solutions, AI/ML operations, evaluation, and cloud architecture. Demonstrated ability to assess technology choices, engage credibly with technical teams, challenge external partners, and translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Strong stakeholder influence and organizational leadership Proven ability to engage senior business leaders, operate effectively in a complex matrix organization, and move strategic ideas into execution. Adaptability, entrepreneurial thinking, and comfort working in a developing environment are essential, together with the ability to shape a team, operating model, and ways of working.
• China ecosystem knowledge and global collaboration capability Experience with China-based and international AI models, cloud platforms, technology ecosystems, or strategic partners. Good understanding of China’s data-protection, cybersecurity, and AI regulatory environment. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English is required. Experience in healthcare, MedTech, regulated industries, private cloud, or edge AI would be an advantage.

During the first 12 to 18 months, expected outcomes include:

• A prioritized China AI portfolio aligned with business leaders, with clear sponsors, value cases, delivery sequencing, governance, and success measures.
• Multiple AI solutions deployed in real business environments, demonstrating measurable value and sustainable adoption.
• An effective delivery and governance model connecting Philips China teams, the Global AI Center of Excellence, and local technology partners.
• A practical architecture supporting appropriate use of both global and China-based AI technologies.
• Stronger AI fluency and adoption across Philips China.
• A lean and sustainable China AI capability supported by strong talent, effective partnerships, and a visible community of practice
