Head of Applications - Manchester Hybrid - Open Day Rate DOE

TechOhana have partnered with a global professional services organisation to appoint an Interim Senior Manager, Application Platforms, on a 7-month engagement.

The organisation is going through a period of transition and needs an experienced leader to provide continuity across its Application Platforms function. The brief is split evenly: keep a business-critical application estate stable, and move its modernisation programme forward.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲:

Reporting to the Head of Technology Services, you’ll manage the team leads, engineers and third-party suppliers who run the estate, and act as the senior escalation point for major incidents and operational risk. Alongside that, you’ll lead cloud migration, SaaS adoption, rationalisation and AI-enabled process improvement, working with Architecture and Technology Delivery on future platform roadmaps. The engagement closes with recommendations on operating model, team structure and sourcing, and a full handover.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴:

• Senior leadership experience within enterprise application services, including responsibility for support teams and live service
• A proven record of application transformation and modernisation, such as cloud migration or platform consolidation
• Commercial, contract and supplier management experience gained in a complex, global organisation

𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 (𝗯𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱):

• Background in legal, professional services or financial services
• Exposure to Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, Azure, or practice and document management platforms
• Experience establishing AI, automation or workflow optimisation capability
• Familiarity with ITIL, Agile and DevOps delivery models
• Prior interim or transformation leadership assignments

• 7-month interim contract
• Manchester based, hybrid working pattern
• Direct influence on the long-term shape of the Application Platforms function
