What they need

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Strategic Planning (Data & Technology Strategy)

Define the vision and technological direction aligned with the overarching business goals of the hotel group.

·        Develop and execute a comprehensive Data & Technology Strategy that aligns with key business objectives, such as increasing RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room), reducing operational costs, and enhancing guest satisfaction scores.

·        Spearhead the adoption of emerging technologies and platforms to drive innovation and create a distinct edge over competitors.

·        Act as the strategic bridge between business units (Operations, Marketing, Finance) and the technology team, ensuring all IT investments deliver tangible business value and address real operational needs.

·        Champion and cultivate a "Data-driven Culture" throughout the entire organization, promoting data literacy at all levels.

2.  Infrastructure & Platform Architecture (The Technical Backbone)

This is the core mission, focusing on building a robust, stable, and scalable foundation to support current operations and future growth.

·        Plan, design, and construct the entire technology infrastructure, encompassing hardware (servers, networking equipment, IoT devices) and software platforms (cloud services, databases, API gateways).

·        Lead the integration of disparate operational systems across properties (e.g., PMS, POS, CRM, Housekeeping systems) to break down "Information Silos" and establish a centralized enterprise Data Lake / Data Warehouse.

·        Oversee end-to-end cybersecurity frameworks and ensure strict compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., PDPA, GDPR) to protect guest and corporate data.

·        Manage external vendor relationships and technology procurement, optimizing investments to fit within allocated budgets (CAPEX/OPEX).

3. Data-Driven Business Insights (Turning Data into Assets)

Transform raw data into actionable business intelligence and strategic weapons for both executives and on-site operational teams.

·        Establish enterprise-wide Data Governance standards and build automated, real-time dashboards (using tools like Power BI or Tableau) to provide leadership with a clear, at-a-glance view of critical KPIs.

·        Conduct deep-dive analytics to support high-level strategic decisions, including ROI analysis of marketing campaigns, accurate demand forecasting, and guest behavior analysis to maximize upselling opportunities.

·        Empower individual hotel managers with intuitive analytical tools and insights to optimize day-to-day operations, such as workforce scheduling, food & beverage cost control, and predictive maintenance planning.

4. Team Leadership & People Management

Build, develop, and lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team to execute all technical and analytical initiatives.

·        Design the organizational structure and recruit top-tier talent across specialized domains, including Data Engineers (pipeline building), Data Analysts (insights & visualization), Data Scientists (predictive modeling), and IT Operations (infrastructure maintenance).

·        Mentor, coach, and motivate the team, setting clear performance goals (OKRs / KPIs) and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

·        Take full ownership of the departmental annual budget, meticulously planning and tracking both capital and operational technology expenditures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in IT, Data, or Technology leadership roles (experience specifically within the Hospitality, Real Estate, or Retail sectors is highly preferred).

  • Technical Expertise: Deep, hands-on knowledge of cloud architecture(AWS/Azure/GCP), database management (SQL/NoSQL), ETL/ELT processes, and Business Intelligence platforms

  • Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Possesses a strong visionary mindset with the proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling business cases for C-level executives and operational staff.

  • Problem-Solving & Risk Management: Demonstrates decisive leadership under pressure, with a track record of effectively managing critical system incidents and mitigating operational risks.
