Head of Data Center Development & Operations

We’re working with an emerging AI infrastructure company developing a distributed network of data centers across the US.

The business focuses on smaller, strategically located facilities that support AI compute and inference, where access to power, speed to market, and operational efficiency are critical.

They’re now looking for a senior data center leader to work directly with the Founder and own development and operations.

The Role

You’ll build the model that takes data center projects from an identified opportunity to an operational facility.

That means overseeing:

• Site selection and due diligence
• Power procurement and utility relationships
• Permitting and entitlements
• Design and engineering
• Construction and contractor management
• Commissioning
• Data center operations
• Development of teams, processes and strategic partnerships

This isn’t a role where you’ll own one piece of the development cycle. The company needs someone who understands how all the pieces fit together and can build a repeatable model as the portfolio expands across the US.

We’re looking for someone who has spent a significant part of their career developing, building or operating data centers.

You’ll understand the technical and commercial realities of bringing new capacity online and have strong relationships across utilities, OEMs, developers, contractors and the wider data center ecosystem.

Most importantly, you’ll be comfortable building.

The infrastructure, team, and processes are still being created, so this suits someone who wants the opportunity to shape the platform rather than inherit an established one.
