Head of Data Practice | Data & Analytics Consulting

Summary: Lead a global data and analytics consulting practice with a seat at the C-suite table. Our client, a private equity backed digital services and technology consulting firm with a strong financial services focus, is hiring a Head of Data Practice to take an established data and analytics business to the next level. You will own practice revenue, pipeline, and profitability across data strategy, platform modernization (Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric), data engineering, analytics, governance, and AI readiness. This role reports to the Chief Business Officer.

About the Role:

You will lead and extend the firm’s existing data and analytics consulting business, driving growth into new offerings, clients, and markets. You will sell and shape engagements with C-suite clients, working alongside sales, client partners, presales, and delivery.

What You Will Do

Grow and extend the practice

• Sharpen practice strategy: target markets, service offerings, partner priorities, and revenue goals
• Expand differentiated offerings across data strategy, platform modernization, data engineering, analytics, governance, and AI readiness
• Own practice growth and profitability, balancing new business, account expansion, and delivery capacity

Sell to the C-suite

• Lead consultative conversations with CEOs, CIOs, CDOs, CTOs, CFOs, and business leaders
• Partner with sales and client partners to build pipeline and win engagements, from discovery through negotiation and close
• Tie data investments to revenue growth, operating efficiency, customer experience, and better decisions

Lead solutioning

• Guide discovery workshops, assessments, demos, proofs of concept, and proposals with presales and solution architects
• Ensure proposals align business outcomes, architecture, scope, pricing, and success criteria
• Make sound calls on platform selection and architectural trade-offs

Lead the team and ecosystem

• Lead, grow, and mentor a team of consultants, architects, and data specialists
• Work with delivery leaders so sales commitments become client outcomes
• Deepen partnerships with Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft for joint pursuits and co-selling

What You Bring

• 15+ years in IT services or technology consulting, including leading and growing a data and analytics practice
• Proven record of originating, selling, and winning data consulting engagements with enterprise clients
• Prior ownership of practice revenue, pipeline, or profitability
• Executive presence, with the ability to explain complex data topics in business terms
• Deep knowledge of enterprise data strategy, cloud data platforms, data engineering, analytics, governance, and AI readiness
• Experience positioning Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric, with depth in at least one
• Strong commercial judgment on scoping, pricing, contracting, and delivery economics
