Head – Electrical Engineering

Location: Nashik | Department: Engineering & Systems

NIDO is looking for a senior Electrical Engineering leader to build and lead the electrical engineering function for our warehouse automation, material handling and intralogistics products and systems.

This is not a pure project-design or PLC programming role. The person will own electrical architecture, engineering standards, design quality, team capability and release discipline across NIDO's automation portfolio.

What you will own

You will be responsible for the complete electrical engineering function across product development and customer projects, including:

• Electrical architecture for conveyors, sorters, lifts, ASRS/material handling systems and other automation equipment.
• LV power distribution, control panels, MCCs, motors, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, safety devices and field electrical systems.
• Electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable schedules, IO documentation and electrical BOMs.
• Electrical design standards, component standardisation and approved component libraries.
• EPLAN / electrical CAD design standards and engineering documentation discipline.
• Electrical product design for standard NIDO products as well as project/application engineering.
• Design reviews, release approvals and engineering-change control.
• DFM/DFA, value engineering, cost reduction and localisation of electrical components.
• Electrical safety, machine safety and compliance with applicable IEC/CE/customer standards.
• Technical support to Manufacturing, Procurement, Installation & Commissioning and Service teams.
• Resolution of recurring field/design issues through structured root-cause analysis and engineering improvement.
• Building capability, reviewing work and developing the Electrical Engineering team.

Leadership responsibility

The Head – Electrical Engineering will lead the electrical engineering organisation and work closely with:

Mechanical Engineering · Systems Engineering · Controls & Automation · Product Management · Reliability & Validation · Procurement · Factory Operations · Installation & Commissioning

You will be expected to create a function that is increasingly based on standard designs, reusable modules, controlled releases and strong engineering governance , rather than repeated project-by-project redesign.

Important role boundary

At NIDO:

• Electrical Engineering owns the electrical hardware architecture — power, panels, devices, safety hardware, wiring and electrical BOM.
• Controls & Automation owns PLC/software logic, motion programming and controls software architecture.

The Electrical Head must therefore be technically strong enough to work closely with Controls while maintaining clear electrical design ownership.

What we are looking for

We would ideally like someone with:

• 12+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience , including meaningful team-leadership responsibility.
• Strong experience in industrial automation, machinery, material handling, warehouse automation, conveyors, ASRS, SPMs or similar engineered equipment .
• Hands-on understanding of electrical panel design and industrial electrical systems.
• Strong exposure to EPLAN and/or AutoCAD Electrical .
• Experience with motors, VFDs, servo systems, industrial sensors, safety devices and electrical distribution.
• Good knowledge of machine electrical safety and relevant IEC / CE standards.
• Experience managing electrical BOMs, design releases and engineering changes.
• Strong understanding of manufacturability, standardisation, component selection and cost optimisation.
• Ability to review complex designs rather than only manage a team administratively.
• Experience working across Product, Mechanical, Controls, Production, Procurement and site teams.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause-analysis capability.

Preferred background

Experience in one or more of the following would be particularly relevant:

Warehouse Automation · Material Handling Equipment · Conveyor Systems · Sortation Systems · ASRS · Industrial Machinery · Special Purpose Machines · Factory Automation

Education

B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Over time, we expect this person to build an Electrical Engineering function where:

• electrical designs are standardised and reusable;
• design releases happen on time and with high first-pass quality;
• project-specific variation reduces;
• component and panel costs improve through engineering;
• field issues reduce;
• electrical documentation remains controlled;
• junior engineers become stronger technically;
• Electrical, Mechanical and Controls engineering work as one integrated system.
