Head of Engineering

About the role

Oversees the planning, execution, and completion of engineering and development projects. This position ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to company standards while providing leadership to the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the planning and implementation of engineering and development projects
• Review and approve project plans, schedules, and budgets
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
• Lead and supervise the engineering team
• Coordinate with management, consultants, contractors, and other departments
• Monitor project progress and resolve technical or operational issues
• Prepare and manage the department's budget
• Recommend improvements in engineering processes and systems
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and government regulations
• Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors and suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engin Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant Engineering field.
• Registered/Licensed Civil Engineer
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in engineering and project management.
• At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role leading engineering teams.
• Proficient in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Experience in department budgeting, cost estimation, and financial control.
• Proven capability in negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers and contractors.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards, building codes, OSH safety regulations, and government requirements.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, operational problem-solving, and executive reporting skills.
