About the job:

We’re looking for an engineering leader to take over the day-to-day operational execution and people management of our ~20-person tech organization. You will work directly with the CTO in a fast-paced startup environment to build a world-class engineering culture, standardize agile delivery, and scale our cross-functional squads (Order Management, Supply Chain Management, etc.). Your mission is to transition our tech organization into a highly scalable, predictable delivery engine and AI integration. Join us!

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a 20-person technology organization, directly managing Engineering Manager(s), QA Lead, and Infra team.
• Own the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, establishing agile rhythms and metrics to ensure predictable, high-quality feature delivery across all product squads.
• Partner directly with the CTO to translate long-term technical strategy and architecture into actionable roadmaps.
• Mentor existing Engineering Managers and formalize a technical leadership track (coaching Senior SEs into Tech Leads).
• Drive a quality-first engineering culture by partnering with the QA Lead to transition the team from heavy manual testing to automated testing (SDET/TDD).
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to balance new feature delivery with strategic technical debt elimination.
• Own hiring, performance management, career progression frameworks, and retention for the engineering department.

General Qualifications

• A can-do attitude, growth mindset, and strong servant-leadership philosophy
• A proven track record of scaling and managing engineering teams of 15+ people
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years managing other managers (EMs) or leading large departments
• Intermediate to Advanced level of English, both written and spoken
• Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and delivery metrics (e.g., sprint velocity, DORA metrics)
• Strong operational mindset to build processes that help teams move faster, not slower

Experience and Technology skills

• Strong background in systems architecture and complex domains (e-commerce, supply chain, ERP, or logistics is a strong plus)
• Ability to engage in high-level technical and architectural discussions regarding Golang, SQL, NoSQL, and Cloud infrastructure.
• Experience transforming QA processes and implementing CI/CD pipelines at an organizational level
• Solid understanding of modern web application architecture, API design, and system scalability
• Familiarity with data engineering and infrastructure/DevOps as internal platform services
• Note: While you will not be writing production code daily, you must possess the technical depth to command the respect of senior engineers and tech leads.
