Role Summary

The Head of Engineering is responsible for leading the company's technical strategy, engineering teams, software architecture, and delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable products. The role combines strong technical expertise with people leadership and delivery management.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the engineering and technology strategy.
• Lead, mentor, and manage engineering teams and technical leads.
• Oversee software architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Ensure applications are scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable.
• Work closely with Product and Business teams to deliver technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Establish engineering standards, code quality practices, and development processes.
• Manage technical debt, production issues, and continuous system improvement.
• Drive Agile/Scrum delivery and ensure engineering projects are delivered on time.
• Support recruitment, performance management, and development of engineering talent.

Technical Requirements

Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with:

• Java 21+, Spring Boot, and Spring Security
• Microservices architecture and REST API development/integration
• PostgreSQL and relational databases
• React or similar modern frontend frameworks
• Enterprise application development and defect resolution
• Git-based development and code review processes
• Agile/Scrum software delivery
• CI/CD, Docker, and modern DevOps practices
• Cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Application security, performance, monitoring, and production support

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years in an engineering leadership or management role.
• Proven experience building and scaling enterprise applications.
• Strong system design, software architecture, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing engineering teams and delivering complex technology projects.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

Experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis, event-driven architecture, high-availability systems, and enterprise or regulated environments will be an advantage.
