What they need

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Group Reporting to take ownership of the Group’s consolidated financial statements and reporting processes. This role will lead the consolidation of multiple subsidiaries across different jurisdictions, coordinate closely with external auditors on the group audit, and provide technical guidance to subsidiaries to ensure consistent application and compliance with Group accounting policies and standards.

You will be a key member of the finance team, acting as the central point of contact for group reporting, consolidation queries, and external audit matters. Experience in a fast‑paced environment and the ability to work under tight deadlines are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the Group in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g. IFRS / AASB / local GAAP as relevant).
  • Manage end‑to‑end group consolidation processes, including intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, non‑controlling interests, and purchase price allocation impacts.
  • Coordinate and manage the Group audit with external auditors, including audit planning, information requests, issue resolution, and timely completion of audited consolidated financial statements.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate Group accounting policies and reporting guidelines to subsidiaries, ensuring consistent application and compliance across all entities.
  • Provide technical accounting support and guidance to subsidiary finance teams on complex or non‑routine transactions (e.g. business combinations, impairment, share‑based payments, financial instruments).
  • Review and challenge subsidiary reporting packages for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with Group accounting policies prior to consolidation.
  • Work closely with the finance systems team to optimise consolidation processes, whether via spreadsheets or dedicated consolidation tools, improving data quality, efficiency, and controls.
  • Support implementation, configuration, and continuous improvement of ERP and consolidation tools (with a focus on NetSuite and any group consolidation system in use).
  • Prepare and review analytical reports, variance analyses, and management information derived from the consolidated financial results.
  • Drive process improvements, standardisation, and documentation across group reporting and consolidation workflows.
  • Mentor and provide leadership to junior team members, promoting a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance function.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Solid, hands‑on experience in preparing consolidated financial statements for groups with multiple subsidiaries, ideally across several jurisdictions.
  • Strong technical knowledge of relevant accounting standards (e.g. IFRS, AASB and/or US GAAP) and group reporting principles.
  • Proven experience performing consolidation either via advanced spreadsheets (e.g. Excel) or using consolidation accounting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with and manage external auditors, particularly on group audits.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting issues clearly to non‑specialists and to collaborate effectively with finance teams across different countries.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge and the tact to build constructive relationships.
  • Ability to work under time pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain high standards of accuracy and control.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a structured, process‑oriented approach to problem‑solving.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience with NetSuite ERP.
  • Experience with consolidation tools (e.g. NetSuite OneWorld, Hyperion, Tagetik, LucaNet, or similar).
  • Background in or exposure to the crypto / digital assets industry, including familiarity with common crypto business models and related accounting considerations.
  • Experience in a fast‑growing, multi‑entity, international group (technology, fintech, or crypto preferred).
