About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Human Resources & Capability to join a purpose-driven, member-focused financial services organisation at an exciting stage of its growth. This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape the organisation’s people strategy, strengthen leadership and organisational capability, and create an employee experience that supports high performance and engagement. Working closely with senior leaders, you will have genuine influence across the organisation and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on its people, culture and future success.

About the Role

As Head of Human Resources & Capability, you will lead the delivery of strategic and operational people initiatives across the organisation, partnering with leaders to strengthen capability, support performance and foster a positive, values-based culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead HR operations across employee relations, talent acquisition, remuneration, performance management and workforce reporting.
  • Provide trusted advice to leaders on employee relations, employment legislation, workplace practices and HR policy.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle initiatives to support attraction, retention and employee experience.
  • Lead learning, leadership and workforce capability programs that support organisational performance and future workforce needs.
  • Develop capability frameworks, learning pathways and development programs to support career progression.
  • Partner with leaders to strengthen management capability, coaching and performance conversations.
  • Lead employee engagement surveys, action planning, talent and succession planning and remuneration review processes.
  • Use workforce data and insights to inform decision-making, drive continuous improvement and support organisational effectiveness.
  • Support workforce planning, organisational change and initiatives that promote a positive, values-based and high-performing culture.
  • Ensure people practices are aligned with relevant regulatory, risk and compliance requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Eight years’ experience in a broad HR generalist role, with exposure to the full employee lifecycle.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience managing key people processes, including engagement, talent and succession, remuneration and workforce planning.
  • Experience developing and delivering initiatives that strengthen employee, leadership and organisational capability.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace relations, employment legislation and contemporary HR practices.
  • The ability to build credibility, develop trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a hands-on environment.
  • Experience in banking, financial services or another regulated sector will be highly regarded.

Why Apply

This is an opportunity to join an organisation with a strong sense of purpose, where your expertise can make a meaningful difference to its people, members and broader community.

The opportunity offers:

  • A supportive and inclusive culture where your contribution and ideas are valued.
  • Genuine opportunities for career development, capability building and ongoing learning.
  • Flexible working arrangements and leave options that support life outside of work.
  • A strong focus on employee wellbeing, recognition and creating a positive workplace experience.
  • Opportunities to contribute to community initiatives and a purpose that extends beyond the organisation.
  • The opportunity to lead and influence a broad HR and capability portfolio, working closely with senior leaders and helping shape the organisation’s future.

If you’re an experienced HR leader looking for a role where you can use your expertise, influence meaningful outcomes and make a tangible difference, we’d love to hear from you.
