Head of Information Technology

Our Client is a global provider of services for the industrial sector, helping customers enhance operational performance through advanced technologies and digital solutions. To support its continued growth and transformation, the company is looking for an accomplished IT leader to oversee the global IT Department and shape its future strategic direction.

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute a global technology strategy that supports business growth, operational excellence, and long-term organizational objectives.
• Lead and develop a geographically dispersed IT organization consisting of several dozen professionals across multiple regions and functions.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives and identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and automation.
• Ensure the stability, security, and performance of global IT operations, infrastructure, business applications, and digital workplace services.
• Oversee the development and optimization of enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, and other business-critical platforms.
• Take ownership of cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance-related initiatives.
• Manage the global IT investment portfolio, ensuring resources are allocated to projects that deliver the greatest business value.
• Establish effective IT governance frameworks, standards, and operating models that support scalability and efficiency.
• Build strong partnerships with senior business stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on technology-related matters.
• Manage relationships with strategic vendors and technology partners to ensure high-quality service delivery and innovation.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement across the global IT function.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Informatics, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of professional experience within IT, including several years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven success in leading international IT organizations and distributed teams within a matrix environment.
• Strong experience in IT financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
• Solid knowledge of enterprise applications and ERP ecosystems; experience with SAP is highly desirable.
• Broad understanding of cybersecurity, infrastructure, software development, cloud technologies, data platforms, and modern enterprise architecture.
• Experience delivering large-scale IT transformation programs and international technology projects.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology initiatives with operational and strategic objectives.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Results-driven mindset combined with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
• Fluent English is required; German language skills will be considered an advantage.
• Experience working with project delivery methodologies such as PRINCE2, Scrum, or Agile frameworks.
