About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Processing Operations (Mango/Avocados) to join our team at our Bundaberg QLD facility. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to lead and oversee all processing operations within our manufacturing environment. As Head of Processing Operations (Mango/Avocados), you will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a diverse team to achieve strategic business objectives. This role is critical to our success and offers the chance to make a significant impact on the organisation's operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of processing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and execution
• Manage and supervise processing staff, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement
• Implement and maintain operational procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry regulations
• Monitor production metrics and key performance indicators, identifying opportunities for optimisation and cost reduction
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of processing operations with broader business activities
• Manage equipment maintenance schedules and troubleshoot operational issues to minimise downtime
• Develop and implement process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency
• Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards across all processing operations
• Prepare operational reports and provide regular updates to senior management on performance and strategic initiatives
• Manage budgets and control operational expenditures effectively

What we're looking for

• Extensive experience in processing operations management or a similar senior operational role within manufacturing environments
• Proven track record of successfully leading operational teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling systems, and quality management processes
• Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements in the manufacturing sector
• Demonstrated ability to analyse operational data, identify trends, and implement data-driven solutions
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Problem-solving capability and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Tertiary qualifications in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related discipline are highly desirable
• Experience with manufacturing systems and software platforms is advantageous
