Head of Security

Role Overview

The Head of Security will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the security framework across all fast food outlets, warehouses, and corporate offices in Zambia. This role ensures the safety of employees, customers, and company assets while maintaining compliance with national regulations and industry standards. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and risk management expertise to safeguard the brand reputation and business continuity of the fast food chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Security Management

o Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy aligned with business objectives.

o Establish policies, procedures, and standards for physical, operational, and digital security across all outlets.

o Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.

• Operational Oversight

o Manage and coordinate security operations across multiple store locations nationwide.

o Oversee CCTV, alarm systems, access control, and other security technologies.

o Ensure effective incident response protocols and crisis management procedures are in place.

• Team Leadership

o Recruit, train, and supervise regional and store-level security personnel.

o Provide ongoing professional development and performance management for security staff.

o Foster a culture of vigilance, accountability, and customer safety.

• Compliance & Risk Management

o Ensure compliance with Zambian laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.

o Collaborate with law enforcement and regulatory bodies when necessary.

o Monitor and mitigate risks related to theft, fraud, vandalism, and workplace safety.

• Communication & Reporting

o Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters.

o Provide regular reports to senior management on security performance, incidents, and risk trends.

o Advise leadership on emerging threats and recommend proactive measures.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, or related field (Master’s preferred).

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in corporate or retail security, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

• Strong knowledge of physical security systems, risk management, and crisis response.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

• Proven ability to manage multi-site operations and large teams.

• Integrity, discretion, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
