Head of Statistical Programming

We are supporting an established international pharma who have an opportunity for an experienced Director / Head of Statistical Programming to lead and develop its Statistical Programming function. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a strategic leadership role, with responsibility for shaping the function, developing teams, driving technical excellence and influencing the future direction of Statistical Programming.

The role offers significant scope to introduce new technologies, improve processes and drive innovation across global clinical development programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and grow the Statistical Programming function.
• Define programming strategy, standards, processes and governance.
• Oversee statistical programming activities across global clinical trials and regulatory submissions.
• Drive innovation through AI, automation and modern programming technologies.
• Ensure high-quality delivery of SDTM, ADaM, TLFs and submission outputs.
• Manage external CRO and FSP programming partners.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Biometrics and Clinical Development.

Requirements

• Extensive Statistical Programming experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology or CRO environments.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing programming teams.
• Strong technical expertise in SAS, CDISC, SDTM, ADaM and regulatory submissions.
• Experience developing programming strategies, standards and processes.
• Strong understanding of global clinical development and regulatory requirements.
• Interest or experience in R, Python, AI, automation and emerging technologies.
• Excellent strategic, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
