What is this role?

You will lead store development and construction as we expand our store network at pace. You will own how store construction projects are planned, priced, built, and handed over, set the standards and controls that keep every project on time, on budget, and to quality, and stay close to the field to keep critical projects on track. This is a senior leadership role for someone who loves to get things done and wants to build a function that scales with the business.

What will you do?

• Build the System: Define the project lifecycle from budget to handover. Find the gaps and lock in SOPs, approval gates, and decision rights.

• Guard the Spend: Be the gatekeeper for all construction spend. Set budget baselines and BOQ standards, control variations and change orders before we commit, and link payments to verified progress.

• Control the Pipeline: See and control every project from site handover and design to store opening. Forecast workload and capacity, prioritise, and flag bottlenecks early to protect opening dates.

• Manage Contractors: Lead tendering and price benchmarking, standardise contract terms, and build a strong contractor and vendor panel.

• Lead on Site: Be on the ground at our construction sites to solve issues fast and make decisions under pressure while protecting quality, safety, and schedule.

• Work Across Teams: Coordinate with other functions and external parties to align scope, budget, and handover readiness.

• Build the Team: Set clear roles, workload, and accountability, and develop future leaders.

Who are we looking for?

• Builder-Operator: You have set up process and controls from scratch while running live operations or projects in high-pressure, multi-front situations.

• Commercial Mind: You are strong in cost control, negotiation, and variation management, and comfortable challenging suppliers.

• Calm Under Pressure: You can manage a multi-project pipeline, prioritise, and make fast, sound trade-offs when things get tough.

• Good with People: You lead and grow teams, and can influence and hold firm with everyone from site crews to top management.

• Ready to Move: You are happy to be on site and work side by side with contractors, vendors, and frontline teams.

• Background: Bachelor's degree with 10+ years leading large-scale, multi-site operations, expansion, or project delivery, with direct budget, P&L, or capex ownership. Backgrounds in construction, retail expansion, logistics and supply chain, real estate development, manufacturing, or other project-heavy operations are all welcome.
