Job Description – Head of Subject (HOS)

1. Curriculum Review and Development

• Review the curriculum periodically to incorporate the latest introductions.
• Check year plans, theme plans, unit plans, lesson plans, study material, evaluation worksheets, and any other material going to students to ensure alignment with the agreed curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment policy of the school.

2. Pedagogy and Skill Integration

• Train and ensure that subject activity plans and theme plans are in accordance with the school’s pedagogy, keeping in mind 21st-century skills and goals.
• Keep abreast with new content, methodologies, and resources in the subject, and train teachers for their effective use.

3. Resource and Activity Support

• Support teachers in identifying field visits, resource people, and relevant resources.
• Assist in planning activities for project day, educational fairs, and other subject-related events or competitions.

4. Teacher Feedback and Observations

• Provide feedback to teachers through ERP on:
• Classroom observations – three per teacher per term.
• Books/booklets, learning material, and evaluation material.
• Continually review the quality of learning material, notebook/booklet work, and evaluations, and enter feedback in the ERP.

5. Meetings and Training

• Plan and conduct subject department meetings and teacher training sessions for sharing good practices and improving teaching-learning quality.
• Attend HOD–HOS meetings to review progress against goals and analyse achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
• Conduct planning meetings to review:
• Progress of curriculum coverage.
• Written work assigned to students.
• Activities planned by teachers.
• Facilitate review meetings as per requirement.

6. Communication and Collaboration

• Support the Events–Media Manager in creating newsletters related to the subject.
• Collaborate with the HOD and teachers for subject-specific projects and competitions.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
