Head of Technical Services – Flooring, Tiling & Construction Products

ARDEX UK / Building Adhesives | Stoke-on-Trent or Haverhill

ARDEX UK and Building Adhesives make specialist building products, including tile adhesives, grouts, floor preparation and levelling compounds, screeds and waterproofing systems. These products are used by contractors, specifiers and installers across the UK.

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Technical Services to lead the technical function across both businesses. You’ll be the senior technical authority on our product systems, covering specifications, site problems, compliance and product launches.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of technical advisors and specification support staff
• Set technical strategy and drive continuous improvement in how we support customers
• Act as the senior expert on complex specifications, site investigations and product failure cases
• Make sure products and literature comply with relevant British and European standards and certification
• Support new product development and launches with Marketing, R&D and Operations
• Work closely with Sales and Customer Services to build confidence among contractors, distributors and specifiers
• Be present at both Stoke and Haverhill, with flexibility to be based at either site

About you:

• Proven leadership experience in a technical role in construction products, building materials or a related sector (for example flooring, tiling, chemicals or adhesives)
• Strong knowledge of building product systems, substrates and installation practice
• Familiarity with relevant standards and certification (for example BS EN 12004, BS 8204, BS 5385, CE/UKCA marking)
• Experience of site visits, failure investigations and producing technical reports
• Commercially aware, customer focused and confident influencing at all levels
• Background in materials science, chemistry, building or civil engineering, or equivalent industry experience
