We are now looking for a Head of Technology & Data to build the foundations of an adaptable, agile and scalable systems infrastructure capable of sustaining our rapid growth plan.

The opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on technology and data leader who can establish the roadmap, influence executive decisions and work directly with systems, data and integrations to deliver practical outcomes.

The role would particularly suit someone with a strong Data Engineering background who enjoys building capability, solving complex problems and turning data into meaningful commercial insight.

You will take ownership of Soak bathhouse’s systems and data environment, strengthen our internal capability and ensure our technology platform can confidently support a much larger national business.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Owning and strengthening Soak’s data architecture, pipelines, models and governance
• Creating a reliable and accessible source of truth across customer, operational and commercial data
• Using SQL, dashboards and business intelligence tools to turn data into actionable insights
• Modelling scalable systems architecture that supports rapid venue rollout with the Leadership team
• Managing systems, APIs, integrations and data flows across the business
• Taking internal ownership of our AWS-based Enterprise Data Platform
• Simplifying and optimising our technology environment and operating costs
• Developing and delivering a practical Technology & Data Roadmap
• Identifying valuable opportunities across analytics, automation and AI
• Leading priority technology and data initiatives from scope through to implementation
• Managing external technology providers, consultants and specialist developers
• Strengthening cybersecurity, privacy, access controls and technology governance

What you’ll bring

You are likely an experienced, commercially minded technology leader who combines strong technical capability with practical business judgment.

You will ideally bring:

• A strong Data Engineering background, including data pipelines, modelling, warehouses or data platforms
• Advanced SQL capability and experience with business intelligence and dashboards
• Experience designing and managing systems architecture, APIs and integrations
• Working knowledge of AWS or another major cloud environment
• Experience turning complex datasets into clear commercial recommendations
• The ability to challenge technical proposals, vendor scope and technology investment
• An understanding of cybersecurity, privacy, access management and technology risk
• Experience in a rapidly growing, multi-site or consumer-facing business

Experience across wellness, health and fitness, hospitality, retail, leisure, memberships or ecommerce would be highly regarded.

Location and flexibility

The role may be based on the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

It will be predominantly remote and flexible, with periodic attendance at Soak Bathhouse offices, bathhouses, leadership meetings and strategy sessions. Interstate travel will be required from time to time.
