Head of Technology Portfolio & Program Management

For our client, we are seeking a Head of Technology Portfolio & Program Management to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space.

This leader will shape how the technology organization plans, prioritizes, and delivers against business objectives across a dynamic consumer retail environment. The role will bring structure to portfolio governance, improve delivery predictability, and ensure investment decisions are aligned to strategic and operational needs. It will also partner closely with product, technology, and business leaders to translate strategy into an integrated roadmap with clear outcomes.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $198,000 – $330,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the Technology Portfolio Management and Program Office function, building the capabilities and talent needed to support the organization
• Partner with leadership to translate business strategy into an integrated portfolio with clear priorities and success measures
• Establish a trusted view of portfolio health, delivery timelines, and risks across the organization
• Design and run portfolio governance to support timely decisions on investment and scope, balancing business needs with modernization priorities
• Build a high-performing team of technical program managers and set clear expectations for performance
• Create an integrated planning cadence that synchronizes product roadmaps and operational readiness
• Improve delivery predictability through data-driven practices for capacity planning and risk management

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in technology portfolio management or a comparable enterprise delivery function
• Proven record of managing complex, multi-team portfolios in dynamic environments such as e-commerce or marketplaces
• Strong command of portfolio planning, investment governance, and delivery operating models
• Ability to connect business strategy with product roadmaps and financial trade-offs
• Experience building and developing teams of technical program managers and cross-functional partners
• Deep fluency with agile and modern product development practices, adaptable to business needs
• Exceptional executive communication skills for distilling complex information into actionable insights
